MiSource (Michigan Resource), is a membership based organization dedicated to helping Michigan municipalities more effectively find and work with Michigan companies.

We connect Michigan resources—people, services and products. By focusing on communication and process, we will build stronger relationships and better communities. As professionals, we have the power to affect the development of where we work and where we live. Unless professionals from all disciplines have an opportunity to communicate and collaborate, we cannot answer the challenge of respecting our environment by designing a better future. This responsibility requires a large educational effort. As professionals, we need to understand and respect the value of adjacent design, planning and engineering fields while educating the general public why design matters. Our world rises to the better, or sinks to the worst, through process. Skipping process and simply producing results in an unsustainable economy with severe environmental impact.

We aim to keep publicly funded projects in Michigan. Lacking in resources, cities, townships and villages across the state are challenged in preparing effective, specific RFQs and RFPs. When these projects are awarded out of state, dollars do not realize their full Michigan potential, in terms of job creation and overall economic stimulus. MiSource seeks to change this trend by giving municipal entities improved access to industry knowledge, resources and talent within the design, planning and engineering fields.  

Our state motto is: If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you. MiSource offers one-on-one sourcing to find Michigan-based companies in the design, planning and engineering fields, as well as companies who facilitate green technologies such as solar, wind and geothermal. We encourage our members to implement green strategies, the foremost being use what is nearest to you. If you need it, look about you.
